In any transport system you have a peeks and dips in pasenger numbers, they should just run the trains with bigger intervals.
If you deliver a service you should not leave people stranded.
"The Bombela Concession Company on Wednesday said it was considering extending the Gautrain’s operating hours.
The airport link between Sandton and OR Tambo International Airport was opened to the public in June. Trains are currently available from 5.30am to 8.30pm during the week."
